As you'll remember, we wrote to the Liverpool City Region's Chief Executive and Executive Director of Place at the beginning of the year.

This was to establish what steps PASG (Port Access Steering Group) was taking, following the cancellation of National Highways Port Access Road.

We've received a response, which you can read in full below.

The biggest thing we've learned is that PASG has not met since December 2023.

Whilst we acknowledge the reasoning for this given in the letter, there is no escaping that this is a concern and disappointing, as we were looking to PASG for answers and a way forward.

On the flip side, the letter contains some positive language around the LCR's Local Transport Plan and a desire to seek multi-modal solutions to the region's various transport challenges, including freight and port traffic.

We will continue to engage with PASG and all stakeholders in a positive, proactive manner, so we'll digest this letter, take guidance, and reply in due course.

As ever, we wanted to share this update with you at the earliest opportunity.
